Nestled on the border with Switzerland, the old world charm of the traditional farming village of Châtel brings guests back year after year. A vibrant and postcard-picturesque village, Châtel is ideally situated in the heart of the enormous Portes du Soleil ski area (over 650km of pistes spanning France and Switzerland). In addition to downhill skiing there is an extensive range of activities on the doorstep including 41km of cross-country skiing pistes in the Châtel area alone, 16 km of nordic snowshoeing/hiking trails, ice-skating, an indoor/outdoor pool, spa and gym, husky sledging, paragliding, horse-riding, ice-fishing and even ice-diving!
